Distribution of Tri Cycle to the PwDs by a Corporate office

Case Study -1
Name: Mr. Dibakar Behera, Village: Kalasuta, Age: 30, O.I, Male

Before:
Before getting the tricycle, I was not able to go to the village pond to take my bath and was also dependent on others to get my medicines. I used to get my disability pension once in a quarter as I could not go to the gram panchayat office, block office every month due to my inaccessible condition. I am a good drummer but I could not participate or enjoy different cultural activities due to my disability.

After:
After getting the tricycle, I am able to go for my bath and also started collecting ayurvedic medicine available locally on my own to give it to people and I started practicing it as a business. I am also able to participate in marriage functions, thread ceremony and other cultural programs. Now I am regularly collecting my pension. I am also working under NREGS and can move independently from one place to another without any help.

Case Study-2

Name: Dukhi Sahu, Village: Gadadamodarapalli, 46, O.I., Female

Before: I was not able to move independently and go to any offices previously. Also could not perform my day to day activities like going for water and bathing in the pond, shopping for household things etc. I used to seek others help to go anywhere.

After: After getting the tricycle, I didn’t require anybody’s help and became independent. With the help of the cycle I am able to go to the bank and govt. offices for any purpose. Also I can go to the market to purchase vegetables for my home.

Case Study-3

Name: Jitendra Nayak, Male, Age-16, O.I.,

Before:
I was not able to go to school regularly because of my disability and also could not go anywhere without the help of others. I was not able to join any functions, festivals etc. earlier as I could not move independently. It was quite difficult for me to go to the panchayat office to get disability pension.

After:
Now I can easily go to my school regularly along with other places. I am also attending different meetings with the help of my cycle. Now I can visit my friends’ places and have chat with them easily.

Case Study-4

Name: Rajeswari Maharana, age-22, Female, O.I., Gadadamodarpalli

Before: I used to find it very difficult to go anywhere for work and also it was very difficult for me to go to the school where I am teaching.

After: My life has changed after getting the tricycle. Now I can go to school on my own on time and teach the children. It also protects me from rain and heat. No longer am I being assisted by anyone for my monthly pension and I can move independently
