Aaina's project with GAATW is working with girls and women at source committees at pre-migration and pre-decision-making stage in Surada Block of Ganjam. On International Women's Day, a meeting was held where the Sarapanch and Vice chairman of the block along with other block level functionaries discussed to expedite the MGNREGA (livelihood scheme) process, and registration process of migration.
With active involvement of leaders 15 women were covered in PMAY-Pradhan Mantri Awaz Yojana and 10 women covered with Buju Pucca Ghar Yojana, 75 women and adult girls (above 18 years) received new job card under MGNREGA and out of them 28 families constructed cow shed from MGNREGA. 30 women farmers are practicing organic farming. 2 women SHG were linked with OLM and got 50,000 cash each as seed money to run the leaf plate unit. Now all the 10 members from this group have an additional income of Rs-2000 per month
