Project Manager at Aaina
Aaina, a leading NGO committed to social inclusion, community development, and climate resilience, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Project Manager with a background in Social Work, Social Sciences, or Sociology/Anthropology. Qualifications & Experience:
- A Master’s degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, or Sociology/Anthropology.
- 2–3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in community development/grassroots mobilization, climate change adaptation, and participatory research.
- Analytical skills of data – both primary and secondary - are essential.
- Working experience on ‘loss and damage’ related research or initiatives would be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, and monitor community-based projects, particularly with coastal communities in Odisha, with a focus on climate adaptation and resilience strategies.
- Conduct field visits, interact with local stakeholders, and ensure effective implementation of programs.
- Work closely with government agencies from grassroots to state level.
- Work independently and travel alone as required to project sites.
- Collaborate with the Aaina team and partners to enhance project outcomes through strategic planning, community engagement, and project related interventions.
Skills & Competencies: - Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work with marginalized communities and adapt to diverse cultural settings.
- Proven project management and leadership abilities.
- Awareness of climate change challenges affecting coastal communities and interest in integrating climate resilience into development work
Location: Odisha (with extensive travel to coastal areas)
