Participants at Amo Vidyalaya set on to a new venture

Participants at Amo Vidyalaya are now involved in a new venture of making colorful paper bags. The paper bags are of different sizes and can be used for different purposes. Participants with different disabilities such as locomotors difficulties, visually impaired & blind, and hearing impaired are enthusiastically participating in the project. The vocational teacher of Amo Vidyalya Ms. Raj Laxmi is training the children in this project. Mr. Akhya Behera, who joined aaina recently) has taken up the responsibility to supply materials and marketing of these bags. Mamata Behera, one of the members shares “I find the making of these colorful paper bags very interesting. Our vocational teacher is also cooperative and teaches us how to make the bags. My family also supports me in this work. After I started making these bags I have become more confident. I want to make new designs of bags and I look forward to get involved in more activities like these” The different sized colorful bags are picking up in demand and are being sold in saree showrooms, Archie gallery, shopping malls and at other NGO training programs.
