aaina coordinates Inclusive education workshop for private school teachers

aaina coordinated an Inclusive Education workshop on behalf of W& CD department. The workshop was held for private school teachers at Hotel Marion on May 31, 2013. The purpose was to make teachers aware of the concept of “inclusion” so that academic syllabus and way of teaching are adapted to meet the needs of CWDs as well. Guest speakers were expertise with special knowledge on the subject. The expertise included discussion on

• Mainstreaming CWSN under Right to Education Act • nderstanding Inclusion • nclusive education for children with Learning Disabilities • clusive education for children with Autism.

There was ample opportunity for the teachers to have an interaction with expertise, and have group discussions among themselves. Group presentation by the teachers was also conducted. . A plan of action for the privately run school was developed cumulatively. The program was jointly organized by W& CD and School & mass education department. The Secretary School and mass education stressed on the significance of the compliance of 25% disadvantaged category students in School in the prescribed format. Ms Annie Koshi from St marry School of NewDelhi who is one of the pioneering of Inclusive education in private Schools shared her views followed by deliberation on handling children with learning difficulties by MsPoonam Natrajan, Chairperson National trust and for children with Autism by Ms Aloka Guha, former Chairperson National trust.
