Construction of Incinerators- a vital step taken for Menstrual Hygiene Management Aaina Advocates with District level officials on Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) and gets incinerators built to dispose off the sanitary napkins, to enhance the skill and knowledge on Menstrual Hygiene Management, DWO invited AAINA for conducting awareness meeting in different SC, ST set up of Ganjam district. Along with the adolescent girls respective ANM, Lady Teachers & lady matrons attended the session which created more awareness among all.
District welfare officer of Ganjam district took the initiative to construct low cost incinerator in all the Sevashram schools in the district of Ganjam (Under SC, ST Dept.) for the safe disposal of sanitary napkins. For better implementation he organized one district level orientation program for the Head Masters and Head Mistress on construction of low cost incinerators with the active technical support form Water Aid & Aaina. 4 incinerators have been installed at residential set up with the presence of Mr. Purna Mohanty (Technical Engineer, WAI) and 5 more incinerators are yet to be installed.
